Our Story
Eastern Avenue Baptist Church was formed August 1982 with 23 charter members. Under the leadership of Brother Billy Rigsby, the church held its first services in the St. Cloud Women’s Club. In 1984, the original auditorium was build, which is now used for our Sunday School Building. Our fellowship hall soon followed and our present auditorium was completed in 1995.
On June 10, 2010, it was God’s will to call our founding pastor, Dr. Billy Rigsby, home to be with Him. Pastor Rigsby was a friend and mentor to many. Having been called to the ministry as a nine year old boy, he dedicated his entire life to fulfilling the call of God. Countless souls were saved and many lives changed through his ministry. Although we miss him, we are forever grateful that our church has continued to move forward.
In July of 2010, Eastern Avenue called Brother Jim Callen as Pastor. Under his leadership the church has grown and extended her ministries to include the Awana Program and Faith Bible Institute. Eastern Avenue now supports more than 40 missionaries in over 25 countries world-wide. Additionally, the people of EABC have become actively involved in the Seedline Ministry, where we have assembled and shipped nearly two million copies of the Word of God, in 13+ languages, all over the world.
We praise God for His continual blessing upon our church and look forward to serving Him together as we continue to move “Forward In The Faith”!
